Roast level:

Discover the exceptional clarity and complexity of our Kenyan Washed coffee, a distinguished offering from the renowned coffee-growing region of Kiambu County, Central Kenya. Sourced from the historic Tinganga Estate, this coffee is cultivated at elevations of 1,700–1,800 metres and meticulously processed to highlight its unique character.

Tinganga Estate’s fully washed method is a classic approach for most Kenyan specialty coffees. First, the cherries are carefully picked and sorted before being de-pulped. Then, the beans take a refreshing dip in water tanks for 12 to 48 hours to shed their sticky mucilage. Once fermented, the coffee—still wrapped in its parchment—is given a thorough rinse in clean water channels to finish the process.

This single origin features vibrant notes of Melon and bright citrus Orange, complemented by delicate aroma of Passionfruit. The cup is exceptionally clean, with a silky body and a crisp, lingering finish—a true representation of Kenya’s celebrated coffee profile.

FAQs

Want to know more?

  • We use Royal Mail 48, which aims to deliver within 48 hours through Monday to Friday.

  • Our coffee is seasonal because, like all crops, it is harvested at different times of the year in different parts of the world -- so we can only provide certain coffee roasts at certain times of year. On the plus side, this allows us to keep providing you with new flavours and tastes every season!

  • We work with ethical and trustworthy speciality importers who connect us with producers across the world. The farmers we work with are paid fairly, the coffee we buy supports social enterprises, and when we can, we visit the farms. We don't add any additional preservatives or chemicals to help with flavour or shelf-life. We are all natural, sustainable and good for the earth.
